曲中のOb-la-di, Ob-la-da, life goes on, brahの箇所は、ナイジェリア出身のコンガ奏者ジミー・スコットの口癖を拝借したのだそうです。
とても能天気な歌詞ですが、このサビのおかげで何となく意味深な気もします。
